UFC President Dana White Interested In Fighter As Potential CM Punk Opponent

It's been well over a year since the Ultimate Fighting Championship and CM Punk announced that he'd be joining the company as an MMA fighter. Since then, Punk has started training at Roufusport in Milwaukee, sustained a shoulder injury, and since returned to training.

Punk and head coach Duke Roufus have stated on many occasions that they wouldn't entertain the idea of taking a fight until he had at least a year of training under his belt. That would put things at the beginning of next month, but he may very well have an opponent.

UFC President Dana White started his new Lookin' For A Fight series on UFC Fight Pass and Youtube, where he travels with former UFC Champion Matt Serra and friend Nick The Tooth, eating at local famous spots, and scouting MMA talent. During the first episode of the show, a fighter being looked at called out CM Punk.

Mickey Gall, who made his professional debut in impressive fashion on the show, took to the mic and said "Hey Dana White, I don't know if CM Punk has an opponent, but I would love to fight that man." Gall trains with Jim and Dan Miller, both UFC veterans.

Dana White mentioned on the show that he was interested, saying that he liked where Gall's head was at. Gall also has a 2-0 record as an amateur. There's still no word on when Punk will make his debut, but the timetable was pushed back a little after the shoulder injury he suffered last year.
