Josh Barnett And Mauro Ranallo Talk Tonight's NJPW On AXS, Calling Fast Paced Matches, More

New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS returns this week after a short hiatus, and commentators Josh Barnett and Mauro Ranallo spoke about this week's episode. The show features Lucha Underground champion Prince Puma as Ricochet, as he tries to win the Super Juniors Tournament.

"Super Juniors really incorporate the history of NJPW, going back to Dynamite Kid. I don't think guys like Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles would be able to make a living in wrestling if not for guys like that," said Ranallo.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion and IWGP title challenger Josh Barnett also elaborated on the difficulties involved in calling junior heavyweight matches. You can also see a video of his comments above.

"These guys can perform just as well as anybody else. They can often do things the heavier guys can't. Trying to call the action on those matches is ridiculous. You just sit back like 'uhhhhh!' Try to fit it all in as they're zipping around the ring. It's insane," said Barnet.

The two put over the abilities of Ricochet, who had an impressive run in the tournament. NJPW on AXS returns tonight at 9 pm eastern on AXS TV. NJPW kicked off the 2015 Best of the Super Juniors tournament this morning as well.
