- UFC is going full force in promoting UFC 189, which will air in three weeks on PPV. The company has released several trailers for the event, including one in which they've been rumored to pay approximately seven figures to produce. This weekend, they released another hype video featuring Conor McGregor, which you can see above.
Wrestling Inc will have full, live coverage of UFC 189 on July 11. The card features what is almost unanimously considered the biggest Featherweight fight in UFC history, between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Conor McGregor.
- Bellator MMA and GLORY Kickboxing announced this weekend that they've joined forces for a huge show set to air on Spike in September. The event will feature both MMA and kickboxing bouts, including competitors familiar to both worlds.
UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz headlines the event, taking on Light Heavyweight Champion Liam McGeary. A 4-man light heavyweight tournament featuring King Mo, Emanuel Newton, Phil Davis and Linton Vassell has also been added to the show. The card is rounded out by GLORY Kickboxing fights including both Paul Daley and Pat Schilling. The event will air September 19 from San Jose, California.
- Joanna Jedrzejczyk impressed in her massacre over Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69, but Penne is walking out with more than just a broken nose after the bout. The drubbing earned the two an additional $50,000 for a "Fight of the Night" Bonus. Mairbek Taisumov and Arnold Allen also took home $50,000 for "Performance of the Night" bonuses.
