WWE Live wins Best Sporting Event at the SSE Live Awards

WWE Live has been named Best Sporting Event in the 2018 SSE Awards, which highlight the best acts in Scottish music and entertainment and are determined by fan vote.

SmackDown LIVE claimed the honor for its international stopover at Glasgow's SSE Hydro arena this past November and beat out a local favorite: hometown boxer Josh Taylor's World Boxing Super Series fight against Ryan Martin. Other winners at the SSE Awards included The Script (Best Group), Jess Glynne (Best Solo Artist) and Andre Rieu (Best Live Entertainment).

The WWE Live show voted by fans featured then-WWE Champion AJ Styles defending his title against Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe, then-SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair, and then-United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jeff Hardy.

Congratulations to the SmackDown LIVE Superstars and the entire WWE production crew on the honor.

- Below is backstage video of Ruby Riott warning RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey ahead of their match at Sunday's WWE Elimination Chamber. The pay-per-view will see Riott's Riott Squad partners Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan try to capture the first WWE Women's Tag Team Titles inside the Chamber with 5 other teams.

"I know what everybody's thinking," Riott said. "Ruby Riott is just a stepping stone to get to the WrestleMania match that everybody wants to see – Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey. Everybody manages to overlook me. Everybody manages to overlook me and I'm sick of it! You guys have this plan that you want to see, you want to see this dream match. Well, I'm about to mess all of it up. Ronda, you've overlooked me. Th WWE Universe has overlooked me. The biggest mistake you'll ever make because in the same building that The Riott Squad debuted, is the same building we're all going to walk out champions."
