WWE NXT Results (3/13): Bianca Belair Vs. Io Shirai, Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Continues

Tonight features the semis of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. DIY, Moustache Mountain vs. The Forgotten Sons. Also, Bianca Belair will take on Io Shirai with the winner getting a shot at NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler at NXT TakeOver: New York.

Moustache Mountain vs. The Forgotten Sons (Dusty Rhodes Classic Semis)

Bate and Cutler get things going, they trade offensive attacks until Cutler is able to drop his opponent. Tags in Murphy, neckbreaker, cover, two-count. Crowd with a "Let's go Tyler!" chant as Blake tries to wear him down with a cobra clutch. Bate able to break free and tag in Seven. Big chops to both opponents, feint punch into a DDT on Cutler, but gets caught with a kick, Seven plants Murphy, cover, two. Cutler gets the blind tag and hits a chop block on Seven from behind. He continues to work over the knee, Seven has had knee issues in the past.

Seven with a sneaky small-package, two, tries to get to Bate, but Murphy with the figure-four, Seven reverse it almost immediately. Rope break and Cutler gets tagged in. Seven counters into another pin, cover, tries to get to Bate, tries for an enziguri, Cutler ducks it, double clothesline brings both men down. Bate and Murphy both tag in, back body drop on Murphy, Cutler runs in and gets a dropkick for his trouble. Double airplane spin and then double hurricanrana by Bate. He looks for a shooting star press, nobody home, lands on his feet, hits and exploder suplex, kip-up, running shooting star press. He tosses Murphy back in the ring, hits a corkscrew senton, pin, two.

Cutler gets sent out, Seven gets tagged in and he's still hobbling a bit, lariat/dragon suplex combo, pin, Ryker is able to put Murphy's foot on the rope for the break. Bate with a big dive to the outside, clearing out both opponents. Back in the ring, Bate heads to the top rope, he gets sent down to the floor and Ryker hits him with a lariat. Seven looks for a suicide dive on Ryker, but gets hit with a running knee. Double stomp/reverse DDT combo hits on Seven, pin, and that will do it.

Winners: The Forgotten Sons via pinfall to advance to the finals.

- Backstage, Cathy Kelley talks with Matt Riddle and asks about last week when he interrupted Velveteen Dream. Riddle said he just wanted to say hi and get a closer look at the title. Adam Cole comes into the picture to let Riddle know he's not next in line for the title, he is, and that's undisputed. Riddle says Cole is good, but if Cole insists on the conversation, why don't they meet in the ring.

- NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler joins commentary.

Io Shirai vs. Bianca Belair

Winner of the match will face Baszler for the title at NXT TakeOver: New York. Belair with a few shoves to start things off, crowd fairly split for this match. Each with a couple counters with Shirai finally landing a dropkick that sends Belair out to the floor. Belair moves out of the way, Shirai looks for a hurricanrana, gets caught and sent into the steps. Back in the ring, Belair with kicks to the midsection, cover, two. Belair with a shoulder tackle, standing moonsault, cover, two. Shirai with a drop toe hold, springboard dropkick, running double knees in the corner, heads to the top, Belair cuts her off.

Tree of woe position and Belair cracks her with the hair in the stomach. Belair heads to the top rope, now Shirai is the one to stop things. Shirai heads to the top for a hurricanrana and sends Belair flying. Shirai looks for a moonsault, knees up and Belair nails a spear. Baszler was asked over and over who she would rather face at commentary, she finally just goes to the ring and attacks both Belair and Shirai.

Match ends in a no contest.

- Post-match, Sane runs out from the back, but ends up getting choked out. Shirai then attacks from behind and swings away, she eventually sends Baszler out to the floor and checks on her friend. Baszler immediately comes right back in and chokes out Shirai. She stands tall with the title to end the segment.

- Two weeks ago, we look back at Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic's match ending in a double count-out. Last week the two nearly came to blows at the WWE Performance Center with Dijakovic wanting to finish things. Next week, the two will meet again in the ring.

- Backstage, Aleister Black and Ricochet prepping for their upcoming tag match against Ciampa and Gargano.

- Outside, Kelley talks with Baszler and asks why she just attacked Shirai, Belair, and Sane. Baszler says no one in the division deserves a shot against her and she just proved that. Kelley then informs Baszler because of her actions William Regal decided Baszler will face Belair, Shirai, and Sane at NXT TakeOver: New York.

Aleister Black and Ricochet vs. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano

Black and Ciampa get going first, Black with a big knee, low dropkick, pin, not even a one-count. Drop toe hold on Ciampa and in comes Ricochet who works over Ciampa's shoulder. Gargano gets the tag, but Ricochet is able to use his agility to work his way around Gargano. Ricochet with a dropkick that sends Gargano to the floor, Ciampa pushes Gargano to safety and ends up taking a kick himself. Black and Ricochet play some head games as Gargano tries for a slingshot spear, doesn't quite get it all though. Ciampa tags in and kicks away at Ricochet in the corner, continues to work him over, does Black's taunt to Aleister.

Ricochet really needs to tag out, but can't find a window. Gargano back in, looks for the slingshot DDT, gets shoved away, but then hits a discus lariat. Ciampa in and lands a running knee. Ricochet finally tags out, Black with some shoulder blocks, sweep kick, low dropkick, kip up, and hits a second rope moonsault on both opponent, cover on Gargano, two-count. Black tries for another sweep kick, misses, Gargano with a kick to the back of the neck. Looks for a slingshot spear and gets a kick to the head. Ricochet and Black get sent out to the floor. Black hits a back elbow, Ciampa tags in, DIY tries for meet in the middle and Ricochet pulls Gargano out to the floor, tries for a golden moonsault, nobody home, gets superkicked. Black heads to the top rope, Ciampa with a cutter on the apron! Gargano with a slingshot DDT, cover, two!

Gargano gets the gargano escape locked in. Ciampa stops Ricochet and tries for a fujiwara armbar, but he fights out of it and hits a death valley driver on Gargano. Gargano's knee looks to be banged up now and he tags out. Ciampa decides to go out to the floor and check on his partner. Black tags in Ricochet, he and Ciampa with big strikes. Ciampa lands a knee, Ricochet returns fire with a pele kick, crowd enjoyed that sequence. Trying to make his way back up to the ring, Gargano just can't go. Black hits black mass on Ciampa, Ricochet with a 630 splash, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: Aleister Black and Ricochet via pinfall to advance to the finals.

- The finals will be in two weeks. Post-match, Ricochet and Black celebrate then head to the back. Candice LeRae heads down to check on Gargano while Ciampa looks on from the apron. He heads over to Gargano and helps him up. They make their way up the ramp and seemingly look to be okay. Gargano falls down on the stage, Ciampa helps him up again and attempts to throw him in the screen, like when they originally broke up. Gargano stops the throw, his knee is fine! He ends up throwing Ciampa into the video screen. Gargano yells at him "DIY, huh?!" and superkicks Gargano. LeRae smiles at her husband as he hypes up the crowd.
