Tonight features the opening round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic: DIY vs. Undisputed Era, Moustache Mountain vs. The Street Profits, Black & Ricochet vs. Aichner & Barthel, and Lorcan & Burch vs. The Forgotten Sons.

- Vignette featuring all of the teams in this year's Dusty Classic, the opening round matches all take place on tonight's show.

Aleister Black and Ricochet vs. Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel

Black and Aichner get things started, Black works his way out of a wrist lock and goes right into a side headlock. Aichner fights out of it, looks for an early pin, not even a one-count. He sends Black to the corner, tags in Barthel. Looks for a clothesline, Black counters with a few ducks, flips over, lands a big cover, cover, one-count. Black leaps off the second rope, gets caught with a european uppercut. Black really getting worked over by both of his opponents. Black trying to get to Ricochet, gets kicked to the face. Aichner tried to knocked down Ricochet, misses, Black with a low sweep kick that allows him to get to Ricochet. He fights off both opponents hits a nice cutter/DDT combo, springboard uppercut, standing shooting star press, cover, two.

Ricochet heads to the top rope, gets kicked in the head, Barthel tosses Ricochet to Aichner for a brainbuster. Aichner hits a double springboard moonsault for the cover, two. Crowd loved that spot. Aichner looks for a powerbomb, Ricochet is able to counter, hits a dropkick, but his momentum is stopped. Black is finally tagged in, hits a springboard double knee strike on Barthel, but is sent shoulder first into the ring post. Basement dropkick on Black, Aichner looks for a powerbomb, gets double stomped. Ricochet clears out Barthel with a suicide dive. Black with a second rope moonsault, Aichener catches him, Black fights out of it and clocks him with black mass for the win.

Winners: Aleister Black and Ricochet via pinfall to advance

- Moustache Mountain getting ready for their match. NXT Tag Team Champions War Raiders give them a look.

- Last week, we see Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic going to a double-count out finish. Earlier this week at the WWE Performance Center Lee is getting in some reps. Dijakovic comes up and wants to finish things. He's kept away from some other guys. The two will meet again in two weeks.

Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs. The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler)

Burch and Cutler get us started, not much for either man, as Blake gets a blind tag in and hits a backbreaker. Blake continues to focus on the back as Cutler tags back in, whipping Lorcan into the corner. Double backbreaker on Lorcan, cover, two. They hit another one, cover, and just a one-count. Cutler with some knee drops to Lorcan's back. Lorcan gets put in the tree of woe as Blake hits a cannonball on him, cover, two. Crowd cheering on Lorcan.

Lorcan finally gets back to his corner as he tags in Burch who hits a dropkick on Blake. Cutler is able to tag in, but instantly gets a german suplex. Burch with a clothesline in the corner, enziguri, second rope dropkick, kip up. Lorcan gets tagged back in, Lorcan's back gives out as they try for a double team move. Burch gets tossed out of the ring. Cutler gets nailed with an uppercut, Lorcan with a leap out to the floor on Blake. Cutler with a massive lariat, backbreaker, cover, two. Cutler with a boston crab in the middle of the ring. He nearly gets to the ropes and is pulled back. Burch comes in and headbutts Cutler.

Burch is tagged back in, doesn't have much luck as his opponents plant him to the mat. Lorcan tagged in as he chops away on both opponents while holding his back. He throws Cutler into Blake, double blockbuster. Burch tagged in, high elevation DDT hits, cover, Blake breaks it up. Lorcan heads to the top rope, is caught in midair, double stomp/reverse DDT hits, cover, and that will do it.

Winners: The Forgotten Sons via pinfall to advance.

- Velveteen Dream's music hits and he strolls out commentary, leaps on the table, and gets a mic. Dream just wanted to remind everyone he's the NXT North American Champion. He had another reminder, but Matt Riddle's music hits. "Bro...to be honest, I just came out here to say hi and congratulate you about your title victory." Riddle says, but real talk he can't help but wonder what the title would look like around his waist one day. Dream tells Riddle he must really be on cloud 9 and the Dream is not his bro. He says the spotlight belongs to him, he snaps his fingers and a spotlight focuses on Dream.

- Io Shirai and Kairi Sane talk about Bianca Belair. Shiarai says Belair is good, but she hasn't beat Baszler, like she did. Sane says both she and Shirai deserves the title, but right now is Shirai's opportunity and she believes her friend can win. Shirai says Belair may be the "EST," but Shirai is number one.

The Street Profits vs. Moustache Mountain

Crowd is split for this one was Bate and Ford get things started. Side headlock by Bate, Ford gets out of it for a moment, but Bate reapplies it. Bate tries for a monkey flip, Ford lands on his feet, Dawkins is tagged in, shoulder block, cover, one-count. Bate with an enziguri, Seven is tagged in, drops Dawkins. Bate with a front flip with the assist with Seven. Dawkins with a big spinning elbow. Ford is tagged in, they stomp away at Seven in the corner. Snapmare, big kick to the back, kick to the midsection, pin, two.

Neck crank on Seven who fight out of it, big chop, DDT, and both men are down. Bate and Dawkins are both in, Bate with some punches, diving european uppercut off the second rope, running uppercut, release overhead suplex, kip up, cover, Ford breaks it up. Seven launches Ford over the top rope and to the floor. Bate and Dawkins with back and forth strikes, cover, Seven breaks things up. Ford with a big leap over the top rope to clear out Seven. Bate looks for the tyler driver 97, nope. Dawkins with a spinebuster, Ford with a high elevation frog splash, cover, and Bate kicks out! Dawkins puts Bate on his shoulders. Seven with a dragon suplex on the apron to clear our Ford. Bate with a stalled german suplex on Dawkins, Seven tagged in. Torture rack position, Bate with the double stomp off the top rope, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: Moustache Mountain via pinfall to advance.

Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) vs. DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano)

Gargano and Ciampa come out to the own music, but then the old DIY music hits as the duo heads to the ring. Gargano and Fish get the match started. Gargano with a couple arm drags, Fish quickly tags out to O'Reilly. Ciampa heads in and works over O'Reilly's arm. Fish is tagged back in, but Ciampa stomps away on Fish in the corner. Gargano is tagged in, tries for a cover, no luck. Gargano hits a suicide dive on O'Reilly to the outside. Neckbreaker by Ciampa in the ring. Gargano tagged back in, boots O'Reilly in the face. Gets sent to the apron, O'Reilly able to get away and tag in Fish, sweep kick on Gargano on the apron. Back in the ring, snap suplex, cover, two-count.

Both Fish and O'Reilly work over Gargano in the corner. Crowd very much in DIY's corner. Gargano fighting out of his corner, O'Reilly with a punch to Gargano. Wheelbarrow DDT on Gargano, Fish then with a body lock. Gargano is getting worked over, but gets a window for a tag, but O'Reilly pulls Gargano off the apron, he gets rid of O'Reilly and is finally tagged in. Ciampa with a kick to O'Reilly, another boot to Fish, sending him to the floor. O'Reilly tries for a sweep kick and Ciampa leaps over it and drops a knee on O'Reilly neck! Running knee in the corner, tower of london, cover, two.

Ciampa with a deadlift suplex, holds on, hits another. Fish tries to help his partner, Gargano kicks him off, cannonball off the apron. Ciampa with a blue thunder bomb, pin, two-count. Gargano tags in, O'Reilly kicks Ciampa, Gargano with a boot to Fish on the floor, slingshot spear, but O'Reilly catches him in a guillotine choke. Gargano stands up with O'Reilly, Ciampa with a knee to the side of the head, cover, two. Back and forth strikes by O'Reilly and Gargano that finishes with both Superstars taking each other out.

On the apron, Ciampa tries to suplex Fish to the floor, no luck. Ciampa heads to the top rope, Fish follows, but gets shoved off. O'Reilly with the distraction, Fish with a kick to the head. Fish heads to the top and nails a super michinoku driver, O'Reilly follows up, cover, two, goes right into a submission. Fish with a diving headbutt on Ciampa. Gargano just shoves Fish into Ciampa and O'Reilly to break the hold. Spiked DDT and slingshot DDT on O'Reilly and he somehow kicks out. Fish is cleared out. DIY with the running knee / superkick combo, cover, and that will do it.

Winners: DIY via pinfall to advance.

- Post-match, DIY celebrate as The War Raiders head out to the stage and hold the titles up. Semis are next week: Moustache Mountain vs. The Forgotten Sons, DIY vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet.
