WWE filed to trademark "WCW" for merchandise use back on Monday, May 18. The following use description was filed with the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office):

In other WWE trademark news, the company abandoned their trademark for "Rated R Superstar" on Thursday, May 21. The abandonment comes after WWE originally filed to trademark the nickname used by WWE Hall of Famer Edge back on Sunday, April 5, which was Day 2 of WrestleMania 36 when Edge made his in-ring singles return.

The following use description was included with the original "Rated R Superstar" filing:

"IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler; providing wrestling news via a global computer network"

WWE previously abandoned the "Rated R Superstar" trademark back on January 20, 2014 after originally filing for it on September 17, 2012. Edge retired back in April 2011.
